[Denmark] PhD Stipend in Architectural Design: Environmental Tectonics

Application Deadline : 10/01/2012

Job description
Climate changes will play an increasingly more important role in coming years in the architectural design of buildings that afford user comfort as well as well-designed functional and aesthetic conditions. There is therefore a need for developing structures that can adapt their perfomance in response to environmental changes and energy requirements. The advertised PhD position therefore has to investigate a performance oriented approach to questions of matter, form, spatial organisation and adaption in relation to altering climatic conditions and occupation. The PhD position is intended to apply and advance perspectives of contemporary technologies, techniques and methods and is to employ a trans-disciplinary approach to related fields of knowledge, including digital tectonics, biomimetics and civil engineering.
