Denmark : PhD Scholarship in Mathematics

Applications are invited for a 3-year PhD positions starting April 2012 or earlier, at the Department of Mathematics.
The PhD project is within the area of algebraic coding theory, in particular towers of algebraic function fields and their possible applications in the theory of error-correcting codes.
The research will be carried out at the Danish-Chinese Center for Applications of Algebraic Geometry in Coding Theory and Cryptology so part of it will take place at East China Normal University in Shanghai, China.

Qualifications
Candidates should have a master degree in mathematics, applied mathematics or engineering or equivalent academic qualifications.

Approval and Enrolment
The scholarship for the PhD degree are subject to academic approval, and the candidates will be enrolled in one of the general degree programmes of DTU. For information about the general requirements for enrolment and the general planning of the scholarship studies, please see the DTU PhD Guide.

Salary and appointment terms
The salary and appointment terms are consistent with the current rules for PhD degree students. The period of employment is 3 years.
